How Do You Know When to Replace Your Filter?
Share
How long a Premium 5 Stage Filters filter lasts depends on the source of your tap water and the level of contamination before filtration. For example, moderate levels of contamination, with TDS tap water levels of 002-050 will yield 40 or more gallons of water per filter. Exceptionally high levels of contamination, with TDS tap water levels of 301-400 will yield approximately 8-15 gallons.
It’s important to note that the life of your Premium 5 Stage Filters filter will depend on your household water consumption.
You will also know it’s time to replace your filter if you notice a fishy taste. This happens once you surpass the life of a filter and it’s no longer able to perform its job of filtering out the total dissolved solids. You will notice an almost lemon like taste in which that the ion exchange resins have been exhausted or reached end of life.
Lastly, if you anticipate it may be time to change your Premium 5-Stage filter, we recommend whipping out your handy TDS Meter. If the quality of your filtered water reads 006 or more, you know it’s time to replace your filter.
